REPENTANCE FROM DEAD WORKS (An evidence of genuine conversion). ROMANS 10:8-10; MATTHEW 3:8.

INTRODUCTION:
After a genuine salvation encounter with the saviour Jesus Christ, every child of God is expected to start bearing fruit immediately by his or her life. The new creation life in Christ is a complete lifestyle on its own. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the spirit is spirit. The outward manifestation of life in the spirit is quite different from that of the life in the flesh. As soon as the new birth takes place, the old life (life in the flesh) is terminated and the new life begins. And by their fruits, you shall know them (Matt. 7:16).
One of the first fruit of the new life is the fruit of repentance. The scripture says in Matt. 3:8: “Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance.” (KJV) “Do those things that will show that you have turned from your sins” (GNB).
We shall therefore look into what it means to repent, what to repent from, God’s response to a repented soul, the danger of refusing to repent from certain deeds. May God grant you understanding in Jesus’ name, Amen.
What does ‘repentance’ mean?
1. Dictionary meaning: Repentance means to think with regret or sorrow over something that one has done.
2. Biblical meaning: Prov. 28:13, Matt. 3:5-8, 2 Cor. 7. 10
To repent means to confess your sins and to forsake (turn from) them as a result of sorrow over those sins. Not only that, it also involves bearing fruits that will show that you have repented. To confess your sins and stop sinning is not enough because then you will be left in a vacuum. Having Stopped sinning (i.e having forsaken your sins), you must start doing something else: bearing fruits worthy of repentance.
So there are three actions that make up repentance: Confession of your sins, forsaking your sins and bearing of fruits to show that you have turned from your sins.

WHAT ARE YOU STILL DOING IN THAT RELATIONSHIP?

I don’t know how you all manage to get into relationships where you’re scared of loving and giving your everything because you don’t trust that the person you’re with is the right one for you, or that they will take you for a fool and not be willing to do the same for you. I don’t get it, It’s just crazy how we get into relationships like this, so crazy.

If i know that my love is not going to find it’s full expressing with you then why am I with you? Please remind me again because I need to know what I am doing in a relationship with someone who I will continue to give half baked love because I don’t trust that they would stay with me if I give my all.

I cannot buy you anything because I’m scared you’ll take advantage of my giving and use me as your alternative means of income.

I cannot ask you for anything because I am scared you’ll see me as a gold digger.

I cannot even suggest that we leave sex out of our relationship until marriage because you will threaten to break up with me or torment my life until I finally give in.

I cannot miss your calls and sleep in peace without you accusing me of cheating on you.

I cannot initiate praying with you or even praying beside you because you’re never interested, spiritual things are the least of your goals.

I cannot take your calls for you when you’re indisposed to answer it. I cannot scroll through your pictures without asking your permission, you shiver and shake like a wet cat whenever I come close to your phone, let alone hold it for a second. You have passwords restrictions on all the apps on your phone like you work with the secret service.

Please remind me what I am doing here again?

Is this relationship the answer to my prayers for a good partner? Does this relationship resemble the product of all my waiting, fasting and seeding? When I asked the Lord to bless me with a good mate was this the kind I was praying about? Is this somebody the kind of stone my Father would send to me after asking Him for bread?

Obviously this isn’t the product of my fasting, it cannot be, no way, i cannot wait on God patiently only to love in a hurry. This doesn’t smell like the fruit of my faithfulness.

So what am I doing here?
Why should I settle in Harran when Canaan is the promise? (Genesis 11:31)

Why? What is stopping you from leaving?

PSALM 91 (KJV)

[1]He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
[2] I will say of the Lord , He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
[3] Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
[4] He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
[5] Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
[6] Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
[7] A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
[8] Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
[9] Because thou hast made the Lord , which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
[10] There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
[11] For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
[12] They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
[13] Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
[14] Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
[15] He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
[16] With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

UNBROKEN CURSES

UNRESOLVED PROBLEMS

Many Christians attend church regularly and strive with all their hearts to lead godly lives. However, in spite of their best efforts,
everything seems to fall apart. No matter how hard they try or how much counseling they receive, nothing seems to help. For example, how often have you heard someone makes a comment such as this: “My life was going along pretty smoothly until I accepted Jesus Christ. Then everything that could possibly go wrong did!” Maybe you have even made such a statement yourself. Some Christians fail to understand why, in spite of everything they do, their children turn against them and against God and walk straight into destruction. Other Christians accept the Lord gladly, grow spiritually for a while, and then find they are no longer able to maintain a close relationship with the Lord. They seem to be unable to read and study their Bibles or pray, and eventually they give up interest and fall away. Still others struggle their whole lives with an on-again, off-again walk with the Lord, never able to establish and maintain a consistent walk with Him. Then there are those believers who battle year after year with all sorts of illnesses and catastrophic accidents. No matter how much they pray, believe, or attend healing services, nothing changes or improves in their lives. The conflict just continues without any resolution or any revelation from the Lord as to the reason for the lack of victory. Countless families are plagued by conditions such as mental illness, suicides, alcoholism, physical illness, divorce, incest, and poverty. Often, even those who come to the Lord are unable to break the endless cycles of devastation within their own families. These problems affect whole churches as well as
individual lives. Many churches are marked by divorce or other such problems within the ranks of their members. Many struggle for years but never prosper and grow spiritually. They never grow in spiritual depth or increase in membership. They frequently split and often change pastors. Even if they do seem to have a revival and grow, soon everything falls apart,
people leave, and the church ends up where it started. Why does this destructive cycle occur?
These discouraging situations may result from a number of factors, but a frequently overlooked reason is a curse on the person’s life or family that has never been broken. Many churches are also cursed. This is a
much-neglected area in Christian teaching today. We had previously been aware of curses, and we
have had to deal with them in our own lives. However, we never fully realized how widespread the problem is within the body of Christ until we started presenting this material in our teaching seminars. We have been overwhelmed by the responses of people to the information about unbroken curses in their lives. We have been privileged to see many lives change dramatically as a result of this teaching. The weapons of our warfare are powerful through Jesus Christ—that is, if we know when and how to use them. The purpose of this book is to help you recognize the hidden battle in your own life so that you can have total victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

HOPE

Hope is like expectation

Faith is now but hope deals with something that must happen

Look at this again

Hebrews  11:1 Now faith is the SUBSTANCE of things HOPED for, the EVIDENCE of things not seen.

Pls note that if you ask anything in faith, you still need to keep your hope alive or else you may never receive it

I have seen many crash bcos they ask and when it seems like what they have asked in faith is delaying, they go ahead and take another option

Some of them fall

Some of them couldn’t wait to see there results physically delivers into their hands bcos

They refused to keep their hope  alive

Without  a living hope, job would NEVER had recover all he lost

Without hope Jesus wud NEVER had died on the cross

Without a living hope, you can’t proof to God you truly have faith

Bishop Oyedepo calls it “Husband(Faith) and wife(hope)”

When you believe God for something and you’re soooo sure God has heard you then you must Never let your hope be dead

Bcos it will come to a point when you may begin to ask “am I sure God even heard me”

Am I sure God will ever  fulfill His word in my life?

It will always come to a point in your life when it seems God’s promises are being delayed… What you need at those moments is a living hope

Your hope must be kept alive and strong

But there are certain things you don’t need to waste your time hoping for… You’ll need hope but it has to be by violent faith..

When it comes to healings

Be as violent as you can be

But not all healings are instant.. Some are gradual and when its gradual, you need your hope to stay alive too.. But it has to be violent

Pls note that, God will do everything He says and He will do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that you believe Him for (mk11:24; Eph3:20)..

You don’t need to know how He will do it. Do you know how God killed Goliath bcos David believed God for it? No!

Did you know how Jordan was driven back and rose up like a heap? No!

Do u know how the red sea parted? No! But God did them all bcos someone believed Him for it..

Believe God for the Impossible.

Never ask how just trust God to do the wow!

Many of you are trying to pity God… You can’t pity God, you can’t help God either

God is all powerful whether you accept it or not, it does not change or reduce Him

Whether u worship Him or not, He cannot reduce in power glory and greatness

I AM GOD I CHANGE NOT

Never reduce God in ur mind

Faith is not just what we need to please God( Heb 11:6), Faith is an instrument that we use to dislodge or disharm the enemy(Ephesians  6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked)

“Above ALL” it means when other things are in place, then take faith

No devil can stand faith.. They know when you have it

You talk with power when you have it

And you walk as if the devils are not a match bcos they are not if you know

No devil has what it takes to defeat a believer, but we don’t know and that’s why we’re receiving some attacks….

O they know not, neither will they understand, they walk on in darkness… I’ve said “you’re gods and all of you are the children of the most high”

God has given this earth to d children of men but the devil is against it

This is why u need faith to stand

Now what are the channels or pathways to great faith

1. Salvation

After salvation, everyone receives a measure of faith from the Lord…

2. The word of God: what we do with the word determines how we gain access into revelations which in turns powers our faith

Every new revelation of God u have deposits a tangible amount of faith into your life

3. Prayer

Without prayer you may NEVER have access to some revelations… For it is written “ask of me and I’ll answer u and I’ll show you great and mighty things which you do not know

A buoyant prayer life will result to a faith-filled life

4. Relationship with the Holy Spirit

5. Praying abundantly and excessively in tongues….

The truth is that you can’t pray  in excess

But wat I mean by that is pray in tongues like you drink water

Pray in tongues anywhere

6. God’s direct voice also builds up our faith

Jude 20 says building up yourself on ur most Holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost

And when you pray more In the Holy Ghost, you have access to God’s voice easily.
