PRACTICAL WAYS OF WORKING FOR PEACE AND PROGRESS

The scriptures are full of exhortation on the need for peace in the church and what believers are expected to do for peace always reign and for the church to progress. These are listed bellow.
1. Everyone must make every effort to what leads to peace and live in peace with all men (Rom. 14:19, Heb. 12:14).
2. Everyone must do everything possible on his or her part to achieve as much peace as possibles in the family and local church (Rom. 12:18).
3. Having interest of others in mind in whatever you do (Rom. 14:20-22h Phil. 2:4).
4. Not repaying evil for evil but overcoming evil with good (Rom. 2:17a, 19-21; 1Pt. 3:9). 5. Agreeing whole heartedly with eachother (phil. 2:2)
6. Loving one another sincerely (Phil. 2:2; 1Cor. 13:4-7; 1Pt. 3:8). 7. Working together with one mind and purpose (Phil. 2:2).
8. Doing nothing out of strife, jealousy, rivalry, selfish ambition or factional motives (Phil 2:3). 9. In humanity, consider others better than yourself (Phil. 2:4)
10. Have the same attitude of Christ by not thinking so much of yourself, so as to cling to, grasp, or take by force the advantages or rights of your status (Phil. 2:5-11). 11. Be patient, kind and forgiving towards others (1Thes 5:14-15). 12. Intercede for all those in authority in the church (1Tim 2:1-2).
